Extreme anti-worker lawmakers are at it again. Jerry Cirino (R-Kirtland) has pledged to attack bargaining rights again as we enter a new legislative session.
In the last legislative session, Cirino was behind Senate Bill 83, a bill that would prohibit certain bargaining subjects and ban striking for unions at our public colleges and universities. It was the largest attack on collective bargaining rights since Senate Bill 5, affecting 13 campus unions and roughly 10,000 union members.
Senate Bill 83 might have died in the Ohio House during lame duck, but Cirino has vowed not to stop.
It’s only a matter of time before Cirino and his anti-worker buddies introduce new legislation attacking the rights of working Ohioans.
We are ready. We are not standing down. We are stronger together.
We Are Ohio will continue to fight back against any and all attacks on the rights of working people. Jerry Cirino is bitter that Senate Bill 83 didn’t make it – well we have a message for him: He can keep trying, and we will keep fighting back. We refuse to roll over.
