Senate Bill 1 is the worst attack on collective bargaining rights in Ohio since SB 5, and Gov. Mike DeWine needs to veto the bill as soon as it hits his desk.
SB 1 is a harmful attack on working people, labor and unions, and it begins the dismantling of collective bargaining rights for all workers. That is unacceptable.
Sponsored by state Sen. Jerry Cirino, SB 1 attempts to silence the voices of 10,000 union workers who educate the next generation of Ohio’s leaders and drive Ohio’s research economy.
SB 1 stops professors and others from standing up for the people they serve by silencing them and punishing them for just doing their jobs.
SB 1 handcuffs workers by limiting their collective bargaining rights that gives them a voice on the job and the power to stand up for fair wages, safety and the ability to serve the public.

Cirino and extreme lawmakers need to get their priorities straight.
Ohio has real problems, high food prices, school funding, understaffing in prisons and nursing homes, skyrocketing property taxes. Critical issues.
But Cirino and his anti-labor fellow lawmakers aren’t focusing on jobs and pocketbook issues like the cost of groceries, heating bills, prescription drugs or gas prices.
No, they made their number one priority, SB 1, an attack on working people.
Gov. DeWine, you know SB 5, the unfair, unsafe law that would have hurt us all, was a bad idea. We stood strong together and went directly to the people of Ohio and overturned SB 5 in 2011.
Send an email telling Gov. DeWine to stand strong with workers and families in Ohio and veto SB 1 now.
